REFLECTION
This project changed how I see algebra. It truly showed me that algebra applies to the real world quite a bit. I was given an opportunity to visualize the way in which algebra helps us understand ways to analyze information. This project relates to the real world simply because it showcases a type of situation that is common every day in the business world. These type of situations can also be used in personal life to determine ways to budget or get the most value for your money when doing projects pertaining to your home.
In relation to other math classes I have taken, this project was one of the most useful projects I have ever completed. I have never before had a math class that required me to actually complete a project. I have only completed long, drawn out problem sets; never even rationalizing or putting together why I was doing the problems. This projects forced me to see why I was locating individual constraints and graphing.
This relates to my own personal life. I feel that after completing the problems given to me throughout this assignment, I no have the knowledge to learn how to choose things like insurance programs, wifi/cable packages or purchase automobiles that make claims about mileage.
Before taking this Algebra class as well as completing our projects (this Advertising project in particular), I was one of those people that felt that algebra is a necessary evil, but not a necessary evil for me. But now I can definitely see how it effects me as well as benefits me in many aspects of my every day life.
