LIfelong Health and Wellness

HLAC 1096 – Lifelong Wellness Application Paper Write a paragraph on each of the following:

1. What did you learn about “lifelong wellness” from taking this activity class?

I learned that lifelong wellness is just that, Lifelong.  It isn't a weight loss destination or a blood sugar reduction goal.  Its about caring for your health for your entire life.  It is something that we need to always be working on and making a priority in our lives.  

2. How would you apply this information to your life?

I'm now in my mid 30's and find myself committing every day to take better care of myself.  I recall having and "all-or-nothing" attitude in my 20's.  I was either on a total health kick or just not doing anything healthy at all.  But this class has taught me and reconfirmed that I am the sum of all of my small steps and little choices can add up to make a big difference.  

3. What is your intention to continue to exercise in your life and why?

I intend to continue being active and exercising throughout my life.  The reasons for this are simple, when I exercise I feel better.  I plan to continue to follow through with the commitment to myself by keeping things interesting.  It's important to continue to learn new activities and have active hobbies.  By keeping interested and finding enjoyment in what I'm doing, I know that I can continue to be active and exercise.  


4. General ideas for improving this course? 

Although this is an online course and I was aware of that going into it, I think that just one class with face to face instruction would be helpful.  (I think that is called a hybrid class.)  I think that meeting other people who are on a journey of health and looking into leading a healthy lifestyle would be beneficial.
