Lifelong Wellness Application Paper

What did you learn about “lifelong wellness” from taking this General Education class?

I learned that "lifelong wellness" can be fun!  When I met up with my class for our snowboarding sessions, it was amazing what a great workout I received.  My legs would be burning from the workout and my entire body would feel it, too.  However, I didn't care because I was having so much fun!  I looked forward to each one of my classes.  I also learned that when you participate in an outdoor sport with other people at your similar ability level, it builds camaraderie and friendships in a different way.

How would you apply this information to your life?

My experience in this class applies to many aspects of daily life.  It was a good reminder that things in life that need to be done can be enjoyable.  Also, it taught me that working with others on your level can be enlightening.  When you work along side peers, you learn from them as well.  Its helpful to see how they do things.  They can also offer some constructive criticism in a different way than an instructor does and its very beneficial.

What is your intention to continue to practice what you have learned  in your life and why?

I am going to continue snowboarding and implementing the things that I've learned in this class each time I go.  I will also be applying to my life the fact that when you do activites that release endorphins, you are more productive at tackling other tasks.

General ideas for improving this course?

There really isn't anything I can think of to improve this course.  It was terrific.  I loved the instructor from Brighton Resort.  I enjoyed the fact that this class was once a week for eight weeks.  That felt like a perfect amount of classes.  Any more classes and it would start to feel overwhelming, any less and it wouldn't have felt as productive.
